Banana Ghosts: Spooky Delights With a Chocolate Chip Gaze

These cheerful banana ghosts come together in minutes and disappear just as fast. Chocolate chip eyes and mouths give them their spooky charm without adding any fuss. They’re the perfect treat for little hands to help make—and eat.

Banana Ghosts

Makes 8

Ingredients

4 medium-sized bananas
16 mini chocolate chips
8 regular-sized chocolate chips

Directions

Cut each banana in half crosswise.

Eyes and Mouth Using Melted Chocolate

Melt the chocolate chips.

Dip one end of a wooden skewer into the melted chocolate, then draw the eyes and a mouth onto a ghost. Repeat with the remaining banana halves.

Eyes and Mouth Using Non-Melted Chocolate

Press the top pointy end of a mini chocolate chip into the side of a banana where you want the eyes to be. Repeat with the remaining mini chocolate chips and banana halves.

Press the top pointy end of a regular-sized chocolate chip into the side of a banana where you want the mouth to be. Repeat with the remaining regular-sized chocolate chips and banana halves.

When all eyes and mouths are on the bananas, set the banana ghosts (cut side down) or lay the banana ghosts onto a serving plate.
