Raise a Toast to the California Avocado with a Seriously Good Avocado Smoothie!

The region that tops them all for eating their fruits and vegetables is the west coast. With plenty of sunshine year-round, fruit and vegetable crops are plentiful. If you’ve never used avocados in smoothies, you’ll want to make this recipe. It’s creamy and delicious and a healthier alternative to an ice cream shake.

Avocado and Honeydew Smoothie

Serves 2

Ingredients

1 large
ripe avocado
1 cup
chunked honeydew
1 cup
fat-free plain yogurt
1 tablespoon
honey
1 cup
fat-free milk
½ cup
apple juice
Juice from ½ lime

Directions

Slice avocado in half lengthwise and remove pit. Scoop out avocado and put into a blender. Add honeydew, yogurt, honey, milk, apple juice, and lime juice to blender. Blend ingredients well. Pour into glasses. Note: Can be kept in refrigerator up to 24 hours. If refrigerated, stir before pouring into glasses.
